Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What is involved in a Trauma Center-Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) training?

A: You’ll find many details about these workshops here.

Q: Do I need to be a yoga teacher to participate in the 20 hour training?

A: No. All body abilities, shapes, expressions welcomed. Participants DO NOT need to be yoga teachers to benefit from the training, although a well-developed personal movement practice can be very helpful. This learning experience will support all participants to integrate a trauma informed lens and TCTSY into their professional context.

A: This is an accessible movement practice with lots of choice available.  You do not need to have a background in yoga, although some experience with a movement practice can be supportive.

A: No. The training is applicable to social workers, body workers, mental health clinicians, yoga teachers, educators, and other healthcare professionals.

A: No. A letter of completion will be provided at the end of the training to professionally support participants, in addition to using it as the prerequisite to apply for the 300-hour Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) Certification Program. Participants can expect to leave the training with a trauma informed lens to integrate into any context using yoga/movement.

A: Continuing education credits are available with Yoga Alliance and the Canadian Yoga Alliance. Please consult your association or college providing the CEC’s with regards to this training. Additional information can be provided upon request.
